I'm in! At last they found me a place in the marina and I'm booked in until the middle of March. 63 nights at 4 euros per night including water and electricity. No wonder it's so popular, I've known marinas to charge more than that just to plug into the electricity. Time to do some laundry. Tuesday 13th of January 2026. I've been on a few hikes but this one was spectacular. The Caldera de Bandama, an old volcano, the hike is around the rim. Strange formations in the solidified ash. 11th of March 2026. Booked in here on La Gomera until 6th of May. A whale surfaced close to the boat on the way over, gave me a bit of a fright. That's the second time I've seen a whale. Saturday 18th April 2026. Took the bus to Valhermosa (seatbelt on) Went for a hike. Very dramatic landscape. and landmarks. and a nice bit of Civil Engineering. Dry stone walling is everywhere here and it's done very well, although these guys have cheated with a bit of cement. I suppose that because they've been doing it since ancient times on the mountainsides with their terraces they have been set standards that have to be kept up.

The pilot book said that this was the most expensive marina in the Canary Isles so happily suprised to only be charged €10 per night, I've booked in for 6 nights and have to get back before the weather turns again. La Palma is the island that is expected to explode sometime in the future and create a tsunami that will wipe out Americas east coast. There was activity and lava flows here as recently as 2021 but I dont remember seeing it on the news. Friday 17th June 2026. Baranco de Agua. My last hike before returning to Tenerife on Sunday.
