Easter Monday 6th of April 2026. Las Galletas anchorage.
Strong winds from the north expected tomorrow and not enough shelter at La Gomera so I've come back to Tenerife to shelter on the south side of the island and plan my next move.
Wednesday 8th of April 2026.
Constrained by strong winds, there are very few places I can get to and I need to leave Nomad somewhere for 3 weeks and fly out from North Tenerife. All of the marinas on the east coast of Tenerife have turned me down but La Gomera has just accepted my request. and I should be able to cross back over on Sunday. It's a great relief, I was beginning to consider having Nomad hoisted out and stored on land. Getting to the airport from La Gomera will involve ferries and hotels but now I have peace of mind.
Safe journeys onwards. Are you off to see Margaux in Switzerland?
ReplyDeleteIs this generally a windy time in The Canaries? Does it calm down in the summer?
Thanks Jules. Yes, off to see Margaux in a couple of weeks time. Supposedly, the winds in the Canaries get stronger as the summer comes so I may already have had the best of it.
